We’re proud to announce that from November 4th to 7th, 2024, Mr. Ansumana B. Bojang, Customs Manager and our Dakar Attaché, is representing the Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA) on the global stage at the 8th Wildlife Inter-Regional Enforcement Forum in Cape Town, South Africa. Standing in for the Director of RILO West Africa, Mr. Bojang is sharing Africa’s data on illicit wildlife trade, showcasing the scale and devastating impact of this critical issue.
The prestigious gathering brings together Customs officials from across Africa, the United States, the European Union, and key private sector partners, all united in the mission to protect our planet's invaluable wildlife from illegal trafficking. Hosted by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in collaboration with South Africa’s Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, this forum reflects a global commitment to stopping the illegal wildlife trade at its roots.
This landmark event is supported by funding from the German International Cooperation, the European Union, the United States, and DP World, underscoring the shared dedication of governments and organizations worldwide to safeguard biodiversity.
