The Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA) and Trust Bank Gambia Plc have entered into a landmark partnership aimed at transforming tax and customs payment systems in The Gambia. The official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) took place today at the GRA Headquarters in Banjul.
The ceremony marked a major step forward in GRA’s digital reform agenda, as both institutions pledged to work together to enhance efficiency, promote transparency, and improve taxpayer convenience.
Speaking at the event, Commissioner General of GRA, Mr. Yankuba Darboe, emphasized the importance of the partnership in advancing national development goals through smarter revenue collection strategies.
“This MoU is more than a formal agreement—it represents a strategic shift towards building a modern, tech-driven revenue system. By collaborating with Trust Bank, we are making tax payment more accessible, more secure, and more efficient for all Gambians,” he stated.
Mr. Darboe highlighted that the partnership will enable the use of digital platforms and banking infrastructure to ease the burden of tax compliance, especially for businesses and individuals in remote areas.
Also speaking at the event, Ms. Njilan Senghore, Managing Director of Trust Bank Gambia Plc, Highlighted the bank’s commitment to supporting government-led financial reforms.
“At Trust Bank, we believe in using innovation to solve real challenges. This partnership with GRA is a proud moment for us because it aligns perfectly with our mission to make banking solutions relevant, reliable, and inclusive,” she said.
She noted that Trust Bank will provide access to tax payment services across its 18 branches, as well as through digital channels such as online banking giving taxpayers a fast, safe, and convenient way to meet their obligations.
Both GRA and Trust Bank Highlighted that this collaboration is not just a financial partnership, but a joint commitment to building a more resilient and digitally advanced public finance ecosystem in The Gambia.
