The Gambia Revenue Authority organized its 6th edition of their Taxpayers Awards Ceremony at the Kairaba Beach Hotel on the 2rd March, 2024.
The aim of organizing this event is to recognize and appreciate our esteemed taxpayers for their compliance and commitment in fulfilling tax obligations.
Africell again emerged as the largest taxpayer of 2023, taking over from Ecobank Gambia Ltd who were the previous winner of this highly prized award.
The event was graced by His Excellency The President of the Republic of the Gambia, Mr Adama Barrow, The Speaker of the National Assembly, The Director General of Senegalese Customs, Cabinet Ministers and a cross section of the business community and other stakeholders.
In addressing the ceremony, the president commended the taxpayers for their commitment to nation building through taxation and creation of jobs. He further reassured them of his government’s support in improving the already competitive business environment. Other speakers included the Minister of Finance & Economic Affairs, Chairperson of the GRA Board of Directors and the Commissioner General who also expressed similar sentiments.
