On Thursday, 17th April 2025, the Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA) held a brief but significant ceremony at its headquarters in Banjul to present certificates to the runners-up of the 2024 Taxpayers’ Award.
In his welcoming remarks, Commissioner General Yankuba Darboe expressed sincere appreciation to the awardees for honouring the invitation. He acknowledged the unfortunate delay in presenting the certificates during the main ceremony due to time and logistical constraints and extended a heartfelt apology for the inconvenience caused. He congratulated the recipients for their tax compliance and reiterated GRA’s commitment to nurturing strong relationships with all taxpayers. He further encouraged continued compliance and highlighted GRA’s efforts to simplify tax processes through digitalisation.
Also present at the event were the Chairman of the GRA Board of Directors, Mr. Ndure, and other members of top management. They each extended their congratulations to the runners-up and encouraged them to aim even higher in the coming year.
The Runners-up of the 7th Edition of the Taxpayers’ Award Ceremony were given the opportunity to share their thoughts and appreciation. They expressed heartfelt gratitude for the recognition and conveyed a strong determination to enhance their compliance efforts. Their remarks reflected a collective aspiration to achieve top honors in future editions, highlighting a renewed commitment to excellence and active participation in national development.
